For AI assistants

GetLawED offers its verified South African law library to AI assistants through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent2Agent (A2A).

MCP server

https://getlawed.co.za/api/mcp/law (Streamable HTTP). Tools: legal_library_search, legal_get_section, legal_verify_citations. No key needed to try it (25 searches and 50 citation checks a day); get a key and plans here — GetLawED subscribers' keys get the Professional allowance.

In Claude or ChatGPT, add it as a custom connector using the address above.

REST API

For your own software: https://getlawed.co.za/api/law/v1/ — search, read a section, verify citations. See the developer docs and the OpenAPI spec.

A2A agent

Agent card: /.well-known/agent.json. Send text with citations to have them checked, or a question to search.

What "verified" means

Each result names its official source (court, gov.za, Government Printer, provincial gazette, municipality or regulator) and, for legislation, the gazette reference. Citation checks compare the case name and citation with our official copy of the judgment; law-report citations are confirmed through judgments that cite both forms. Absence from the library does not mean an authority does not exist. Results support legal professionals and are not legal advice.

Using an AI assistant? Connect it to GetLawED's verified South African law library — it can then quote provisions with their official source and check citations before you rely on them. How to connect
